UNFPA is the lead UN agency for enhancing possibilities of women and youth to access a healthy sexual and reproductive life, particularly through access to voluntary family planning and safe motherhood. UNFPA is supporting Sustainable Development Goals number 3  on health,  Goal 4 on education  and Goal 5 on gender equality context appropriate through advocacy and results based actions that promote development rights and opportunities especially for  young people and women. This work is undertaken in the context of promotion of human rights and population dynamics where UNFPA supports data collection, analysis and diffusion for decision making that is evidence based and responsive to the emerging needs of the population.

UNFPA plays the role of a catalyzer, linking advocacy to action, through strategic alliances with the Government, UN agencies, civil society organizations, private sector and media. UNFPA makes a difference in people’s lives focusing on realising the potential of each young person.

Dr. Visare Mujko Nimani

Dr. Mujko-Nimani is a national of Kosovo with 20 years of experience working with the United Nations Population Fund. Before the current assignment, Visare worked as a Programme Specialist at the UNFPA Kosovo office. She also conducted program support missions in various field locations such as in Ukraine, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Moldova, and UNFPA Europe and Central Asia Regional Office. Dr. Mujko-Nimani carries an MD in Medicine from the Prishtina Medical University and a Master’s Degree in Health Management. She has published and contributed to over 15 publications on medicine, public health, population, and international development. Dr. Mujko-Nimani is fluent in English, Albanian, and Serbian and intermediate in Turkish.
