UNFPA ASRO Regional Director, Dr Luay Shabaneh was invited by the National Institute of Global Strategy Studies in Algiers, Algeria to deliver a lecture at a conference on the linkage and perspective of the demographic dividend and the Sustainable Development Goals.

During his intervention, Dr Shabaneh highlighted the consequences of the demographic tendencies on the development plans of the countries and continent.

He also emphasized on the need of investing on youth, women and on providing health and social services for them.

Dr Luay explained also the linkage between the education, employment, empowerment of youth and women and the impact on social comfort and political stability, calling for an investment on sustainable projects and human resources for a prosper future for Africa.
